Travel Insurance

A short-term medical + trip-disruption policy that covers you in case of hospitalization, lost luggage, or trip cancellation while abroad.

Travel insurance is a short-duration policy bought before your trip that pays out for medical emergencies, trip cancellation, lost baggage, and personal liability while abroad.

  • **Schengen Visa**, €30,000 medical coverage is a hard requirement. No insurance, no visa.
  • **Russia, Saudi Arabia**, required for visa.
  • **Cuba**, verified at airport on entry.
  • USA / Canada, hospitalization is ₹50,000+/night; one ER visit can wipe out a year's savings.
  • Trekking trips (Nepal, Bhutan), helicopter evacuation costs ₹2–5L.
  • Beach + adventure trips (Bali, Thailand), motorbike accidents are the #1 traveler emergency.
  • **Medical coverage ≥ ₹50L** for USA/Europe; ₹20–30L for Asia
  • **Pre-existing condition cover** if you have any, not all policies include
  • **Adventure sports rider** if you'll bike/surf/dive/trek above 3000m
  • **Trip cancellation** ≥ ₹50,000, covers your booking if visa rejection or family emergency
  • **24x7 assistance number**, actually test it before flying
  • **SafetyWing Nomad Insurance**, ₹1,400/4 weeks; renewable; covers 180+ countries
  • **Tata AIG Travel Guard**, ₹1,800–4,500 by duration; Schengen-compliant
  • **Bajaj Allianz Travel Elite**, comparable to Tata AIG; better claims process

Always email yourself the policy PDF and emergency number. Print one copy and slip into your passport, useful if your phone is dead at the embassy/hospital.
