NoMadYa is an AI trip planner built specifically for Indian passport holders by Afthab, a Chennai-based software engineer who has visited 15 countries since 2019. The product produces full multi-day itineraries (visa, flights, daily plan, budget, packing) in 90 seconds, with affiliate links replacing tour-operator markups. Free to use, no signup required. Launched 2026.
The facts.
The founder.
Afthab is a Chennai-based software engineer who has visited 15 countries since 2019, planning each one end-to-end on a spreadsheet before booking. NoMadYa is the deal site he wished existed when he was 19, planning his first Vietnam trip from a noisy Chennai cybercafé.
He's travelled to Vietnam, Malaysia (×3), Hong Kong (×2), Macau, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Thailand (×3), Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, and Indonesia (Bali, Nusa Penida, Gili). The full travel history is on the About page.
Why this exists.
Indian passport holders pay 2–5× the visa burden of EU/US passport holders, and traditional Indian travel sites (MakeMyTrip, Thomas Cook, Yatra) bundle packages that include a 35–55% margin over self-booked equivalents. NoMadYa exists to flatten both: visa-first thinking, plus AI-generated day plans that link to the same Skyscanner/Booking pricing a Western traveler would get.
Quotable lines (use freely).
- “An Indian passport opens a different set of doors than a US one — most trip planners are built for the wrong door.” — Afthab, founder
- “The 35-55% premium MakeMyTrip charges over self-booked is the cost of NOT having tools that understand visa rules for Indians.”
- “Every NoMadYa plan starts with the visa question. If the destination is visa-on-arrival, we build the trip differently than if it's an embassy visa with 6-week processing.”
- “We make money on affiliate revenue from the same Skyscanner and Booking links you'd find anyway — same price, no markup. The plan itself is free.”
