## The route

Day 1-3: Seminyak / Canggu. Land at DPS, Grab to Canggu (IDR 200k, GBP 9). The Lawn for sunset, La Brisa for beach club, surf lessons at Old Man's (GBP 20).

Day 4: Day trip to Uluwatu. Single Fin for sunset, Kecak fire dance at the temple at 6 PM (IDR 150k entry, GBP 7). Stay overnight in Uluwatu if you want quiet.

Day 5-6: Nusa Penida. Speedboat from Sanur (IDR 500k return, GBP 23). Kelingking, Broken Beach, Angel's Billabong on day 1; Atuh Beach, Diamond Beach on day 2. Hire a driver, brutal roads — don't self-scooter.

Day 7-9: Ubud. Transfer day. Tegalalang rice terraces early (before 9 AM), Sacred Monkey Forest, Yoga Barn classes (GBP 8), Campuhan Ridge Walk, couple's spa at Karsa (GBP 25 for 2 hrs).

Day 10: Fly out. Last breakfast, transfer to DPS — allow 2.5 hours from Ubud, traffic is real.

## Scam warnings

- Airport taxi cartel at DPS quotes IDR 500k for a Rs 780 (GBP 9) ride. Walk to the Grab pickup zone — it's signed. - Scooter scratch scam — photograph the bike from every angle before riding off. Rentals try to charge IDR 2-3 million for pre-existing damage. - Money changer short-changing — only PT Central Kuta. - Sacred Monkey Forest — monkeys steal sunglasses, hats, water bottles. Leave anything loose at your hotel. - Mount Batur sunrise hike — book directly with a licensed Bali Sunrise Trekking guide (GBP 30), not "hotel tours" charging GBP 80.

- April-June: dry season starts, fewer crowds, GBP 650-800 flights - July-August: peak crowds + peak prices, GBP 850-1,100 flights — avoid unless school holidays - September-October: best value, dry, GBP 650-750 flights - Nov-March: rainy season, cheap (GBP 580-700) but Penida boats often cancelled
