Europe Budget Trip 14 Days From India: 2026 Plan
14 days, 6 cities, Rs 2.2-2.8L all-in from India. The budget Europe trip that's actually doable in 2026 — without a tour operator.

## The route
Paris (3) → Amsterdam (2) → Berlin (2) → Prague (2) → Vienna (2) → Rome (3)
Fly into Paris, out of Rome. Open-jaw saves Rs 8-12k vs return-to-Paris.
## Day-by-day
Days 1-3 Paris. Eiffel sunset, Louvre (Tue closed), Montmartre, free walking tour with Sandeman's. Skip the Seine cruise (overpriced) — walk it.
Day 4: Thalys train Paris → Amsterdam, 3 hrs, EUR 45 booked 60 days out.
Days 5-6 Amsterdam. Van Gogh + Rijksmuseum combo, Vondelpark, canal walk. Don't bike if you've never biked — locals are ruthless.
Day 7: Flixbus or train to Berlin, 6 hrs, EUR 35.
Days 8-9 Berlin. Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial, East Side Gallery, Mauerpark Sunday flea market.
Day 10: Train to Prague, 4 hrs, EUR 30.
Days 11-12 Prague. Charles Bridge at dawn (else tourist hell), Old Town Square, Petrin Hill, traditional Czech dinner at Lokal (EUR 12).
Day 13: Train Prague → Vienna, 4 hrs, EUR 25. Half day Vienna: Schönbrunn or Belvedere.
Day 14: Fly Vienna → Rome (Ryanair EUR 40). Pantheon by night.
Days 15-16 Rome. Colosseum + Forum combo ticket EUR 24 (book online, skip 2-hr queue), Vatican EUR 22, Trastevere food crawl.
## Schengen visa
Apply through Italy or Spain for lower rejection rate, even though France is your first stop. Embassies accept this if you'll spend the most nights there. See Schengen rejection 2026 and Schengen visa.
## Eurail or point-to-point?
- Eurail Global 7-day in 1 month: EUR 314 (~Rs 28,000) for 2nd class adult - Point-to-point: ~EUR 220-260 if booked 60+ days out - Eurail wins if: you want flexibility, hate booking each leg - P2P wins if: you book early and stick to your dates
For this 14-day route, P2P + 1 Ryanair = EUR 250 total. Eurail = EUR 314. P2P wins unless you're indecisive.
## Where to eat for under EUR 12
- Paris: Bouillon Chartier, Marché des Enfants Rouges - Amsterdam: FEBO snack bars, Indonesian rijsttafel at Sampurna - Berlin: Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap (the queue is worth it), Curry 36 - Prague: Lokal, Sisters Bistro - Vienna: Naschmarkt food stalls - Rome: Pizzarium (slice by weight), Trapizzino, Da Enzo al 29
## Hostels (booked May 2026)
| City | Hostel | EUR/night | |---|---|---| | Paris | Generator | 38 | | Amsterdam | ClinkNOORD | 34 | | Berlin | EastSeven | 26 | | Prague | Hostel One Home | 22 | | Vienna | Wombat's | 30 | | Rome | The Yellow | 36 |
## Money + cards
Niyo Global or Scapia for everywhere. Carry EUR 200 cash buffer. ATM withdrawals from EU bank ATMs are free; Euronet ATMs add EUR 5 — avoid.
## Connectivity
Holafly Europe 14-day unlimited (Rs 2,800) or Airalo Eurolink 10GB/30d (Rs 1,900). Either works in all 6 countries.
## Scam warnings
- Paris: Eiffel "petition" scammers, rose pushers, ATM helpers - Rome: Colosseum "skip the line" touts (only buy from coopculture.it) - Prague: taxi mafia — only use Bolt - Amsterdam: fake Heineken Experience touts near Leidseplein
